MHP Volunteers at Cancer FundraiserAuthor: Kevin O'Malley
Date: Jul 07, 2007
On Saturday July 7th, the members of Mess Hall Press volunteered at the 1st annual Radiate Hope fundraiser in Madison. We set up our mobile printing stations and invited kids of all ages to try their hand at screen-printing. Radiate Hope took place at Capital Brewery. Hundreds of fun-loving, good-hearted people came out to the event, raising thousands of dollars for local cancer research and support groups such as Gilda's Club of Madison and Headrush. The event was the first of its kind for the Radiate Hope foundation, which was started by employees of TomoTherapy Inc., a Madison company that makes a radiation therapy device. Kevin O'Malley, one of Mess Hall Press' very own, works at TomoTherapy. "I asked the rest of the Mess Hallers if they'd be up for donating their Saturday for such a good cause," said Kevin. "As usual they jump at the chance to be part of such a positive thing for the community." Special thanks go to: Suttle-Straus for donating paper and Top Promotions for donating t-shirts. See you next year. |
